On Broadway

When I am on stage

I feel the heat coming from the lights

It is like the TV cameras are shining on me

I feel excited

I feel excitement coming from the audience

First comes the silence

No clapping

And then the loud cheers

I hear people getting up

They like what they see

I feel strong in the performance

I thought to myself

I must be on television

I never been on television before

I also thought

I must be on Broadway perfgorming for the audience

I never been on Broadway... before
